Uma Paro

Uma Paro is the first COMO property in Bhutan and is one of the groups Adventure Retreats. It offers exceptional style in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Reflecting an understated philosophy of quiet comfort in a unique, culture-rich location, this inland retreat is also dedicated to yoga and adventure. The landscape is dramatic with pine-clad valleys and snow-tipped ranges. Bhutan is Buddhist, retaining respect for religious tradition.

The nine private villas and 20 luxury rooms combine the colourful accents of traditional Bhutanese craftsmanship with the clean-lined contemporary design for which COMO Hotels and Resorts are known.

All of the COMO hotels and resorts offer a range of holistic, Asian-inspired treatments including signature massages, facials and body therapies.

Location:

Uma Paro sits on a tree-clad hill overlooking Paro. It is one of the main cultural centres of Bhutan and also where the countries only airport is located. The surrounding region is known as the Paro Valley, through which the Paro Chuu flows from the watershed in the Jomolhari mountain range. This area is full of monasteries and temples.

Getting There:

Flight to Paro Airport Bhutan, with some of the retreat package deals you will be met by your Uma Paro guide and driver to transfer you to the hotel. With the daily room rates you can pay an additional Airport transfer by the hotel car at US $20 per person for a one-way journey.

Dining:

Uma Paro supply most have the produce offered from they’re own organic kitchen garden, which is maintained in partnership with local farmers from the Paro Valley. You can immerse yourself in the traditional flavours of Bhutan. Alternatively enjoy international dishes or for the wellness wariors the well known healthy and much-loved COMO Shambhala Cuisine offers lighter, nutritionally rich menus. There is also a special kids’ offering for younger palates.
